Waldo Peirce: a community celebration In-Person
Join us for a fun afternoon celebrating much-lauded Bangor artist, Waldo Peirce's 140th birthday! Drop in any time on the 3rd floor from 1-4 PM to view an exhibit of Peirce's work in the Cyr Gallery and create your piece of art to hang in this community exhibit. Birthday cake will be served at 2:30 pm.
Waldo Peirce painted and illustrated letters, cards, and postcards he mailed to family and friends: His Postal Art will be featured in this exhibit. Community members are encouraged to create a piece of their own Postal Art and display it as part of the exhibit.
- People of all ages will have the opportunity to create Postal Art to become part of the exhibit in the Cyr Gallery.
- Envelopes, stamps and stamp pads, collage supplies, crayons, markers, and colored pencils will be available for this activity.
- Children can create a piece of Postal Art and mail it to themselves via the BPL mail service and USPS.
- Community members who display their art in the Cyr Gallery can choose to pick it up in early February.
This exhibit will be on display throughout December and January.
A reception for the Waldo Peirce exhibit will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 6:00-7:00 pm. All are welcome. Click here for more information.
