War and Peace in Pieces

War and Peace in Pieces In-Person

Have you always meant to get around to reading War and Peace, but never done so? Or would you like to revisit an old favorite? This winter, you'll have your chance! We'll be meeting the last Monday each month from January through April, reading about a quarter of Tolstoy's classic each month. Discussion will be led by two of Bangor's reference librarians, each of whom are new to the book as well. We will be reading the Oxford World Classics edition translated by Amy Mandelker, and a free copy of the book is guaranteed to those who sign up for the first session by December 6, 2025 and we'll do our best to get later registrants their copy of the book in a timely manner.

The group will be capped at 15 registrations and we'll meet in the Crofutt Community Room from 5:30pm-6:30pm on the last Monday of the month. Each meeting will focus on one of the volumes:

Volume 1: January 26th
Volume 2: February 23rd
Volume 3: March 30th
Volume 4 & Epilogue: April 27th
