Adulting 101 - Building Savings and Understanding Credit: A Primer with New Ventures Maine In-Person
Kim Donovan from New Ventures Maine will be back at the library on Tuesday 10/14 with another essential money management workshop: Building Savings and Understanding Credit. Setting money aside helps you plan for the future and reach your goals. While saving can be challenging, taking small steps can make a difference. This section of the workshop will examine needs versus wants, how to prepare for unexpected expenses, and how to set savings goals (and budget for them!).
Understanding credit and credit scores is essential to financial wellbeing and management of credit and debt. This portion of the class will cover how to reduce your debt, improve your credit, and maintain a good credit score. If time allows, Kim will help you create your own step-by-step plan to pay down your debt.
All registrants will receive a handout of resources, including information on more in-depth class offerings at New Ventures Maine.
While this series is crafted with ages 18-30 in mind, all ages are welcome to attend.
Registration isn’t required to attend (despite what is says below), but those that register will receive email reminders about the event.

About the Series:
Being an adult can be overwhelming. From budgeting to meal planning to seemingly endless loads of laundry, it’s hard to figure it all out–but you don’t have to do it alone. Join us twice a month for Adulting 101, where we’ll talk about finances, mending clothes, meal planning on a budget, and so much more. These workshops are designed to help you learn the skills we weren’t taught in school. While this series is crafted with ages 18-30 in mind, all ages are welcome to attend.
Registration isn’t required to attend, but those that register will receive email reminders about the event and in some workshops, only registered participants will be guaranteed supplies to support their new skill.
