Tech Workshop: Break Up with Amazon

Tech Workshop: Break Up with Amazon In-Person / Online

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and it can feel like there are no alternatives sometimes. If you'd like to avoid supporting this technology juggernaut, you'll benefit by protecting your personal data and supporting more small businesses. This class will walk through ways to find other online and brick-and-mortar stores to buy from, as well as discussing alternatives to popular Amazon-owned services like Kindle, Audible, and Goodreads.

The library offers regular technology workshops on different subjects. All workshops are free of charge, but space is limited, so registration is required to attend. Registration is available to attend in-person or online via Zoom. This workshop will not be recorded.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own device if they have one they want to learn on, or use one of the library’s computers if not. For more information, contact Hannah at 922-6055 or hannah.cyrus@bangorpubliclibrary.org.
