Technology Workshop: WordPress Basics

Technology Workshop: WordPress Basics In-Person

The National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) and the Bangor Public Library will co-sponsor a free 3-session workshop, "WordPress Basics," on Thursdays April 17, 24, & May 1st, from 5-6 PM, in the library's Computer Lab. This class will be followed by a "WordPress Intermediate" series on May 15, 22, & 29. Attendees are asked to register individually for each series they are interested in. Attendees of this series should have completed the "Understanding WordPress" class from NDEC ahead of time.

This class is for people who do not currently have a WordPress site but would like to learn how to use it. Participants will create a free WordPress website using a wordpress.com account with limited functionality to learn the basics of building a website in WordPress in this 3-week class taught by an instructor from NDEC. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computer or device, or may use a computer provided by the class.

All workshops are free of charge to Maine residents, but space is limited, so registration is required to attend. To register for all three sessions, fill out the form on the NDEC website or call Nina for assistance at (207) 825-2540.

The National Digital Equity Center provides communities at all levels the expertise needed to mobilize broadband technologies through digital inclusion, literacy efforts, education, resource planning, funding research, infrastructure leveraging and stakeholder engagement. NDEC provides digital skills training through 40+ classes on different subjects. Learn more at their website.
