Technology Workshop: MacOS Basics In-Person
Note: This is session 3 of a class that ran earlier in March, but needed the last session rescheduled. New attendees should not plan to come unless they have already taken sessions 1 & 2 of this course.
The National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) and the Bangor Public Library will co-sponsor a free 3-session workshop, "MacOS Basics," on Tuesdays March 4, 11 & 18, from 12-1 PM, in the library's Computer Lab.
Learn how to get the most out of your Mac computer. This course will cover the basics of how to use Apple’s operating system which works on Apple’s popular line of laptops and desktops. This class starts with the basic functions of the MacOS operating system and how to navigate through folders, files, and menus. Organizing, moving, and saving files will be covered too. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computer running MacOS, as only a limited number of computers are available to be provided for this class. Not sure what operating system your computer is using? Feel free to ask at the reference desk on the second floor of the library and we can identify it for you.
All workshops are free of charge to Maine residents, but space is limited, so registration is required to attend. To register for all three sessions, fill out the form on the NDEC website or call Nina for assistance at (207) 825-2540.
The National Digital Equity Center provides communities at all levels the expertise needed to mobilize broadband technologies through digital inclusion, literacy efforts, education, resource planning, funding research, infrastructure leveraging and stakeholder engagement. NDEC provides digital skills training through 40+ classes on different subjects. Learn more at their website.
