ARTOber Arts & Crafts Supply Swap

ARTOber Arts & Crafts Supply Swap In-Person

Celebrate the arts in Bangor by making something new or fostering creativity in others by passing on unneeded supplies! You don’t have to bring in anything to swap if you don’t have anything! Any leftover items will be used for library programs, held for the next swap, or donated to local charitable groups.

Supply Drop-Off: Now! You can leave at our greeter desk in the first floor atrium. Please contact Shavaun Rigler at 207-922-6958 or shavaun.rigler@bangorpubliclibrary.org if you have more than 2 bags or large items.

Rules (aka how to make this fun for everyone):

  • We will be limiting people to two bags until 4pm. This rule will be strictly enforced! We have had community members fill 2 bags, take to their cars, and then return for more.
  • If you work with a community group or a school, email shavaun.rigler@bangorpubliclibrary.org ahead of time and we can expand the number of bags.
  • We ask that people do not take the complete stock of an entire category. For example, don’t take every book of scrapbooking paper.
  • After 4pm, it’s take as much as you can craft with!

What to Bring:

  • Yarn
  • Knitting, crochet or sewing needles
  • Paper (card stock, drawing, watercolor, craft)
  • Paint (at least half full)
  • Craft kits
  • Pencils
  • Markers
  • Pastels
  • Scrapbooking supplies
  • Blank canvasses
  • Baskets
  • Fake flowers
  • Holiday kits
  • Empty non-food containers (These are so helpful for keeping supplies in and are very popular!)
