Maine's Upcoming Total Solar Eclipse Discussion

Maine's Upcoming Total Solar Eclipse Discussion In-Person

Discover the beauty and wonder of solar eclipses and prepare for the one taking place here in Maine on April 8th 2024!  Shawn Laatsch, Director of the Versant Power Astronomy Center and seasoned eclipse observer will share what causes eclipses and their importance both observationally, culturally, and scientifically. Learn how to safely view eclipses, where to look for totality, and more.   April 8th will be the first time Maine has had a total solar eclipse since 1963, and after that, we will have to wait until 2079 for totality to take place in our state again.
