Screening of the Documentary "Truth Tellers" In-Person
Truth Tellers is a documentary film chronicling the lives of courageous Americans fighting for racial equity, climate justice and indigenous rights through the eyes of Robert Shetterly, a long time activist and artist. The film explores the intersection of these issues stressing the urgency of coming together to confront them and galvanizing our resolve to uphold our country’s founding ideals.
The director of the documentary, Richard Kane, will be here to answers questions about the film and its creation.
The Bangor Public Library is bringing this screening to the community as part of its "What is a Maine Story?" series for 2024 and in anticipation of the exhibition of 12 Robert Shetterly portraits of subjects connected to Maine. These portraits will be on display in March and Robert Shetterly will conduct a portraiture workshop in March as well.
